Intimate Wedding in Glacier National Park: Serene Beauty and Secluded Spots

Celebrate love amidst Glacier National Park's serene beauty. Experience intimate weddings in secluded spots: lakeshores, alpine meadows. Tailored experiences, privacy, and breathtaking backdrops. Say "I do" surrounded by nature's tranquility. Cherish memories forever.

Congratulations on your decision to tie the knot in one of nature's most awe-inspiring wonders, Glacier National Park!

With its majestic peaks, pristine lakes, and abundant wildlife, this national park offers a truly enchanting backdrop for your special day. In this guide, we'll cover everything you need to know about planning your dream wedding in Glacier National Park, from the nearest airports to the best time of year for outdoor ceremonies. So grab a cup of coffee, sit back, and let's dive into the details!

Nearest Airports:

Glacier National Park is nestled in the northwest corner of Montana, making it easily accessible for both domestic and international travelers. The two nearest airports to the park are:

  1. Glacier Park International Airport (FCA): Located in Kalispell, Montana, FCA is the closest airport to the park, situated approximately 30 miles from the West Glacier entrance. This airport offers direct flights from major cities across the United States, making it a convenient choice for your wedding guests.

  2. Missoula International Airport (MSO): Situated about 150 miles south of Glacier National Park, MSO is another viable option. It provides a wider range of flight options and services, but keep in mind the additional travel time required to reach the park.

Best Time of Year for Outdoor Weddings:

To make the most of your outdoor wedding in Glacier National Park, it's essential to choose the right time of year. The park's peak season is from late June to early September when the weather is generally warm and dry. However, this period can be quite busy with tourists. If you prefer a quieter experience, consider planning your wedding during the shoulder seasons, such as May or September. Keep in mind that weather conditions can be unpredictable in the mountains, so be prepared for potential changes and have a backup plan in case of inclement weather.

Legal Requirements for Getting Married:

To legally get married in Glacier National Park, you must obtain a marriage license from the state of Montana. The Flathead County Clerk and Recorder's Office is responsible for issuing marriage licenses for weddings held within Glacier National Park. You can find more information and apply for your marriage certificate on their website: www.flathead.mt.gov/clerk_recorder

Glacier National Park isn't just a destination for grand and lavish weddings; it's also an exceptional choice for intimate and smaller celebrations. Here's why:

  1. Serene Natural Beauty: The park's unspoiled landscapes offer a serene and intimate atmosphere for your special day. With towering mountains, sparkling lakes, and lush meadows, Glacier National Park provides a breathtaking backdrop that will make your wedding feel truly extraordinary. Whether you choose a secluded lakeshore, a hidden meadow, or a picturesque overlook, the park's beauty will enhance the intimacy of your ceremony.

  2. Privacy and Seclusion: Opting for an intimate wedding in Glacier National Park allows you to escape the crowds and find secluded spots that offer privacy for you and your loved ones. You can exchange vows surrounded by nature's tranquility, creating an intimate and personal experience that focuses on the connection between you and your partner.

  3. Tailored Experiences: Smaller weddings in Glacier National Park provide an opportunity for a more personalized and tailored experience. You can work closely with your chosen venue and wedding planner to customize every detail according to your preferences. From curated menus to unique decorations, you have the flexibility to create a truly one-of-a-kind celebration that reflects your love story.

Two Ideal Spots for Intimate Weddings in Glacier National Park:

  1. Avalanche Lake: Nestled in the southwestern region of the park, Avalanche Lake is a hidden gem that offers a magical setting for an intimate wedding ceremony. Surrounded by towering peaks and lush forests, the lake's crystal-clear waters create a tranquil ambiance. A short and scenic hike along the Avalanche Lake Trail leads you to this picturesque location, ensuring that your wedding remains an exclusive affair.

  2. Logan Pass: Located along the Going-to-the-Sun Road, Logan Pass is a stunning alpine meadow that showcases the park's majestic beauty. With panoramic views of snow-capped peaks, wildflower-filled slopes, and alpine wildlife, this serene setting is perfect for couples seeking an intimate mountain wedding. Exchange vows surrounded by nature's grandeur at one of the designated overlooks, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Remember to obtain any necessary permits and check the park's guidelines for weddings and events to ensure a smooth and seamless experience.

If you are looking for somewhere to hold a higher number of guests, there are so many gorgeous venues located around the area. Here are couple of my favorites:

Green Valley Ranch

Paddle Ridge

Glacier National Park offers an enchanting setting for intimate and smaller weddings. With its serene natural beauty, privacy, and tailored experiences, the park provides an idyllic backdrop for celebrating your love. Whether you choose the secluded charm of Avalanche Lake or the majestic alpine meadows of Logan Pass, your intimate wedding in Glacier National Park is sure to be an unforgettable and cherished experience.

Say "I Do" in Paradise - Best Wedding Locations in Kauai

Discover the most captivating wedding locations in Kauai, from the tropical beauty of the East Side to the sunset serenades on the West Side. Explore the North Shore's nature extravaganza and learn how to legally tie the knot. Find out the best time to elope in Kauai and get ready for a carefree, easygoing wedding experience in paradise. Let's make your dream wedding a reality!

Let me be honest when I am saying Kauai is my favorite place I have ever been. If you've been dreaming of a wedding in paradise, look no further than the breathtaking island of Kauai. With its stunning landscapes, pristine beaches, and vibrant culture, Kauai offers the perfect backdrop for your special day. As a wedding and elopement photographer, I've had the pleasure of capturing incredible moments on this enchanting island. In this blog, we'll explore three remarkable locations in Kauai that will make your wedding dreams come true. We'll also cover essential details like permitting rules, the best time of year to elope, legal requirements, and more. So, grab a coconut cocktail and let's dive in!

  1. East Side: Embrace the Tropical Beauty The East Side of Kauai boasts lush rainforests, cascading waterfalls, and picturesque beaches. One of the most sought-after wedding venues here is the stunning Wailua Falls. Imagine exchanging vows amidst the thundering water and misty rainbows—it's pure magic! Keep in mind that a permit is required to hold your ceremony at Wailua Falls, so be sure to obtain one in advance.

  2. West Side: Sunset Serenade For couples seeking romantic sunsets and golden shores, the West Side of Kauai is a dream come true. Hanalei Bay is a popular choice, with its sweeping views of the majestic mountains and crystal-clear waters. This idyllic location is perfect for an intimate beach wedding, surrounded by swaying palm trees and the soothing sound of waves. Remember to check the permitting rules for Hanalei Bay to ensure a seamless experience.

  3. North Shore: Nature's Extravaganza The North Shore of Kauai is a nature lover's paradise, with dramatic cliffs, verdant valleys, and pristine beaches. One remarkable location for exchanging vows is Tunnels Beach. Picture yourself standing on the golden sand, with the iconic Napali Coast as your backdrop. A permit is required for Tunnels Beach, so make sure to acquire one well in advance to secure your dream wedding spot.

Getting Married on the Napali Coast:

The Napali Coast is seriously even more stunning in person. With its towering emerald cliffs, hidden sea caves (seriously one of these caves look like it’s straight out of the Disneyland Pirates of the Caribbean ride), and secluded beaches, this iconic stretch of coastline will take your breath away. However, please note that ceremonies directly on the Napali Coast are not permitted due to conservation efforts. But don’t worry! You can still charter a boat or helicopter to experience the mesmerizing beauty of this untouched paradise.

Best Time of Year to Elope in Kauai:

Kauai enjoys warm tropical weather year-round, but it's worth considering the seasons for your elopement. The summer months (May to September) offer sunny skies and calm waters, while the winter months (December to March) bring bigger swells and occasional rain. Spring and fall strike a delightful balance, with pleasant temperatures and fewer crowds. Choose the time that aligns with your preferences, and always check the weather forecast to plan your perfect day!

How to Legally Get Married in Kauai:

Getting hitched in Kauai is a breeze! To obtain a marriage license, both parties must appear in person at the Office of the Registrar in Lihue. You'll need valid identification, such as a driver's license or passport, and a fee of $65 (subject to change). There is no waiting period, and your license will be issued on the same day. Just remember, your marriage ceremony must be performed by an authorized officiant (I can sign as your officiant!), and two witnesses must be present.

Some Insider Tips:

Good Food:

You honestly can’t go wrong with pretty much anywhere in Kauai. They have SUCH good food there! But here were some of my personal favorites.

Passion Bakery Cafe - for a quick bite in the morning or for lunch. Or their “Fresh From the Fryer Malasadas” only on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday 7 AM till 12 Noon.

Saenz Ohana Breakfast - for the best breakfast you’ll ever have in your LIFE. I recommend their Eggs Benedict.

TOURS:

Makana Charters - for any view of the Napali Coast! And ask for “Super Dave” to be your captain!

Another important thing to note is that there is almost always traffic in the morning headed towards the south end of the island! And not just a little traffic, I am talking an INSANE amount of traffic. It once took me two and a half hours to go to the south end of the island one morning when it should only take 30 minutes. If you have a tour scheduled, or if you’re planning a wedding and need to be at the south end in the morning. Keep this in mind! And plan to be in traffic for 2+ hours.

Remember to secure the necessary permits and explore the best time of year for your elopement in this tropical paradise. For a fun, carefree, and truly memorable experience, consider booking me as your wedding and elopement photographer in Kauai. Let's capture your love story against the backdrop of this picturesque island. And if you're looking for more wedding inspiration in Hawaii, check out my blog on Oahu for even more incredible possibilities. Your dream wedding awaits in the Aloha State!

How to Plan an Intimate Wedding in Lake Como

This guide will tell you everything you need to know to plan an intimate wedding in Lake Como, from the best venues to local marriage laws. wedding in Lake Como

wedding packages lake como

Lake Como is a gorgeous glacial lake in Lombardy, Italy, surrounded by villas, beaches, and gardens. It’s an incredibly romantic place to get married, whether you’re looking for a luxurious, relaxing destination or an adventurous experience (or a little bit of both)! This guide will tell you everything you need to know to plan an intimate wedding in Lake Como, from the best venues to local marriage laws.

I’ve also written a blog on eloping in Italy! You can click HERE to read more about other locations to get married at in Italy.

Set a Date for Your Wedding in Lake Como

One of the first things you’ll need to do for your intimate wedding in Lake Como is set a date! The lake is a pretty popular destination, so along with the weather, it can be helpful to consider when peak season is.

Weather in Lake Como

You can definitely have your wedding at Lake Como any time of year! But, each season is a little bit different, so here’s what you need to know.

Winters get pretty cold, but during the day, temperatures are usually in the 40s, so if you layer up, it’s still plenty comfortable for exploring outdoors! The lake also looks extra blue during this time of year, and because there are fewer tourists around, prices for accommodation drop quite a bit.

Spring is one of the best times for a wedding in Lake Como - the temperatures are mild, and azaleas, camellias, and wisterias bloom around the lake, surrounding the blue water with gorgeous pastel colors! Late spring can get pretty rainy, so be prepared with an umbrella.

In the summer, you’ll see a lot of other people around - because of the warm weather and sunshine, people flock to Lake Como from all over the world. This is a great time for a wedding, and for hitting the beach, but it’s busy!

Fall is another great time for a wedding, with mild weather and gorgeous fall foliage. The villages surrounding the lake start to shut down in October, so while you can enjoy fewer crowds, there may be fewer options for restaurants and things to do!

Avoiding Crowds When You Get Married in Lake Como

If you book a venue for your wedding, you’ll (most likely) have the place to yourself! But, if you want to have an intimate wedding in Lake Como and combine it with your honeymoon, or you’re walking around taking wedding photos outdoors,  it’s definitely nice to not have a ton of people around as you celebrate saying “I do.”

There are a few ways to avoid crowds while you’re here - first, tie the knot during shoulder season! Peak season is summer, so shoulder season is right before and right after that - spring and fall.

Another tip is to plan a weekday wedding. If you and your guests are flexible with your wedding day, this can be an amazing way to have some more privacy. I also recommend planning adventures for sunrise and sunset, as these times (especially sunrise) are always much less busy.

The Best Wedding Venues in Lake Como

From five star hotels to cozy villas, Lake Como has somewhere for every couple to say “I do.” Here are just a few ideas for the best wedding venues in Lake Como

Villa del Balbianello

The Villa Del Balbianello is a luxurious wedding venue located at the tip of a forested peninsula. It’s far away from everything, accessible only by boat, which adds to the adventure for you and your guests! You’ll have incredible panoramic lake views, lush gardens, and stunning vistas.

Villa Bonomi

Villa Bonomi is one of the best wedding venues in Lake Como for intimate weddings, situated on a mountain that overlooks the lake. It’s a short drive from Como city center, close to tons of adventures! The gardens have terraces and paths to wander through, as well as a swimming pool.

Outdoor Wedding Locations

Depending on the size of your intimate wedding, you might also choose to get married outdoors, somewhere on the banks of Lake Como (or even rent a boat and get married on the water)! This is a possibility for smaller weddings and elopements, so get a rough guest list together before you start your search. I can help you find a location that’s perfect for you!

How to Get Legally Married in Lake Como

Getting legally married in Italy as a foreigner can be pretty complicated. You can do a Catholic church ceremony if one of you is baptized, but otherwise it needs to be a civil ceremony officiated by the mayor.

You’ll need your passport and birth certificates, and a “Dichiarazione Giurata,” which certifies that there is no legal impediment to you getting married. After this you’ll need to swear in front of the Italian Consul that there is no impediment.

In Italy, you’ll need to present all of these documents to the Marriage Office in the city where you’ll be getting married, and make a “Declaration of Intention to Marry.” Once this is done, you can set a date!

Because this process is pretty difficult, many couples decide to do the paperwork at home, then have their wedding ceremony in Lake Como.

It’s also important to note that Italy recognized same-sex marriages! If you are a LGBTQ+ looking to plan a destination wedding, click on THIS BLOG or ten other locations in countries around the world that queer couples can legally get married.

Wedding Locations Similar to Lake Como

If you like the vibe of Lake Como, but aren’t quite sure if it’s perfect for you, here are a few places that are similar!

Lake Maggiore, Italy

Lake Maggiore is another lake in Italy, and along with Lake Como and Lake Garda, it’s one of the three biggest lakes in the country. But unlike the other two lakes, which are very developed, Lake Maggiore remains peaceful, wild, and natural. There are fewer shops and restaurants, and therefore fewer people, so if you want gorgeous views without a crowd, this is an incredible place for an intimate wedding!

Lake Placid, New York

Though it’s pretty far from Italy, Lake Placid in Upstate New York offers a similar feeling as Lake Como does. A gorgeous lake bordered by mountains and surrounded by villages and quaint towns, it’s the perfect place for an intimate wedding!

Interlaken, Switzerland

Interlaken is a town in Switzerland, situated between two lakes. Lake Thun and Lake Brienz sit at the base of three stunning mountain peaks, surrounded by hiking trails, ski slopes, and so much to explore.

Lake Como Wedding Packages

Your wedding should allow you to focus on what matters - each other. So if an intimate wedding with the people you love most, in a beautiful place, sounds like your jam, I’m ready to help you plan it! My job as  a photographer is to be your guide through it all - so to start dreaming up your intimate wedding in Lake Como, contact me!

An epic LGBTQ+ elopement in Jackson Hole, Wyoming that includes snowball fights, shots at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, and silly selfies. As a wedding photographer, I captured the magic of their love story in the beautiful Grand Tetons.

Love Knows No Bounds: Celebrating an Unforgettable LGBTQ+ Elopement in Jackson Hole, Wyoming

As a wedding photographer, I get to witness some of the most beautiful moments in people's lives, and this elopement in the Grand Tetons was no exception. This couple was absolutely amazing and their love story is one for the books.

The day started out with their ceremony in front of the Grand Tetons. Just like any perfect love story does.

But the real fun began when they brought out their "just married" donuts to celebrate their love. I mean, who doesn't love a good donut, right?!

After adventuring around the Tetons, they busted out a little snowball fight (a must when eloping in the winter!) and watching them kiss and make up was just too adorable.

After capturing some breathtaking photos with the stunning Grand Tetons in the background, we headed over to the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar where we all took some shots together. It was a total blast and the perfect way to end such a special day.

But the most hilarious part was when the couple took my camera at the end of the night to take some silly selfies. I couldn't stop laughing at their poses and expressions. They were just the freaking cutest.

If you're considering eloping in the Grand Tetons, let me tell you, it's a freaking amazing place to do it. (And I wrote a blog all about how to do it! CLICK HERE! ) The scenery is just absolutely stunning and the options for adventure are endless. Plus, there's just something about the energy and vibe of Jackson Hole that's just so damn magical.

I would be honored to be your photographer for your special day. As a wedding photographer, my goal is to capture the essence of your love story in a way that's authentic and meaningful to you. Let's make some freaking magic together.

So, if you're ready to elope in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and celebrate with "just married" donuts, snowball fights, and shots at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, then let's freaking do this!

"The Last of Us" Inspired Zombie Wedding Photoshoot

Unleashing Undying Love: A Captivating "The Last of Us" Inspired Zombie Wedding Photoshoot

Let me be real for a second, The Last of Us awakened a creativity in me I haven’t felt for a LONG time! I have always been a creative person, I am a full time wedding photographer! But when I was a kid, I used to do these creepy styled photoshoots with my sister. We’d put blood all over a fancy dress. Or turn me or my sister into zombies. We would do different special effects makeup and go to a place that was blooming with flowers and take photos.

I always loved the seeing the differences between this creepy person/blood all over someone and this gorgeous whimsical location, or this beautiful dress. I’ve always loved it. But being a wedding photographer, I kind of had to put that “creepy” aspect on the back burner and haven’t done any kind of photoshoot like that in a long time.

When I was watching The Last of Us, I was instantly inspired to put together a styled wedding shoot involving mushrooms, abandoned buildings, and my favorite…clickers.

My heart is so thankful to everyone who helped me put this shit together. I seriously had my brother and sister in law helping with making little mushrooms out of clay and painting them to go in her hair. It took days and way too much money. Which was very extra of me but they turned out so cute.

And my sister took off time from work to model as a clicker and almost trip and eat shit doing it. And then walking by the highway covered in fake blood. Whicchhhhh I’m glad didn’t get us in trouble.

I spent countless hours going around different cities looking for the perfect abandoned building and last minute stumbled upon this one.

It felt like all my hard work paid off just in time for the season finale. So I quickly went to work editing and I dropped these photos the day of the season finale of The Last of Us on HBO!

This show has honestly meant so much to me and has awakened a creativity in me that I haven’t felt in a long time! It felt like I was tapping into my childhood.
Thank you thank you to everyone who helped with this.
