A Very Gay Glacier National Park Elopement | From the Fountain

These two and this day was nothing short of perfect.

From the start of the booking process, they emphasized wanting to have a day that was centered around the two of them and also a day that felt true to themselves.

As a queer wedding photographer, celebrating + affirming queer love is at the heart of my business. From all walks of life, queer couples choose to elope just themselves for a myriad of reasons. I am always honored, every single of time, that I get to document these intimate moments and witness the vows that no one else gets to hear. Getting to help couples plan a day that’s exactly what they dream of makes my heart so happy. And this day was no different. We planned a day that was perfectly them and rolled with the punches whenever mother nature had a different idea in mind.

This day started with all of us waking up early AF to get ready for this day so that they can have their ceremony as soon as the sun began to rise.

It was cold and it was raining when we were up in the mountains of Glacier, but that didn’t stop them from having the ceremony on their dreams.

Their vow books became soaked from the rain. Their hair, their makeup that they spent the morning working on being washed by the sky. None of that stopped them from experiencing the moment of that day.

Their outfits grew more and more dirty, but none of that mattered to them. They were living in every single moment and didn’t care how “perfect” something looked.

We explored the park and then when the sky cleared we set up for a picnic by the river. They had made little sandwiches, decorated a cake, and bought local berries.

One of the many special touches of their day was Ray getting to open up and read letters that Ankita had written during their time dating. Ray was unaware of the letters at the time of Ankita writing them. Then, Ray + Ankita wrote new letters to each other for them to open up on their anniversary next year.

And then, the rain followed and we packed up the picnic to finish it in their Subaru rental. It was perfectly gay, lol.

We finished the day with ice cream as they signed their marriage license.

I met up with Ray + Ankita later that day to go out to the town fair and I got to snap a few pictures of them while we were there.

As much as I love being able to travel for work, Ray + Ankita are the ones who made this trip so special to me. We were all laughing all day and it felt like getting to photograph my friends. I now get to look back on Glacier with such fond memories.
